Color and Gloss Measurements
Arizona Desert Testing performs color measurement using a Hunterlab Ultrascan XE spectrophotometer. This instrument features:
- dual beam optics
- integrating sphere
- pulsed xenon light source
- capable of measuring transparent, translucent, and opaque materials
- small area (6 mm - 1/4 inch) optional view area
- improved accuracy and repeatability
- integrated color measurement software
Color measurements are typically performed initially and then after weathering exposure to determine a change in color. Arizona Desert Testing can perform color measurements using any common illuminant scale and observer, and report measurements using any common scale (such as XYZ, CIE Lab, Hunter Lab, etc.).
Arizona Desert Testing performs gloss measurements using a Hunterlab Progloss 3 multiangle gloss meter. Geometries of 20°, 60° and 85° are available.
